Today has been an amazing day! The Christmas Collective announced that I am one of three new authors and I couldn’t be more excited! The thought of having something I’ve written published by the end of the year is literally a dream come true!
Originally, we all found each other on social media, having been shortlisted for the 2021 Penguin Michael Joseph Christmas Love Story competition. Twelve members of the group went on to put together the Christmas romance anthology ‘More than Mistletoe,’ which was a brilliantly festive read of twelve short stories. When three of the founding members decided to move on with their own projects this year, spaces opened up for new authors. I applied with the opening of my work in progress, and they chose me!
Since then, I’ve been working on my Christmas short story, which is in a very rough first draft state. It’s the first time I’ve seriously ventured into writing a short story, having previously been working on full length romantic comedies, but so far, it’s been going well and I’ve got words to work with, which is always the first hurdle to overcome.
