This is my second foray into the world of querying, where time stands still and your heart jumps into your mouth every time a new email pings into your inbox. I realise now, that last time I sent things out to agents, my manuscript simply wasn’t ready. I cringe now to think that I probably sent out what was essentially a first draft. One day, I’ll revisit it and turn it into something beautiful.

This time around, I’m feeling confident. I’ve finally achieved a full-length manuscript; it’s had structural edits, line edits, it’s been proofread at least five times. And now my baby is out in the world and people are actually reading it; which is pretty exciting even if it is industry professionals reading it rather than the general public. In fact, that might be more exciting!

So far, I’ve had four full manuscript requests from publishers, so watch this space. But of course, I’m existing in ‘query time’ now so I’ll be hunkering down and waiting for those emails to drop into my inbox over the next few months. Fingers crossed!
